aaaaah , the Violent Femmes . quality. pure, unadulterated quality. they were - i must say - fucking brilliant.
i wouldn't say i'm a diehard Femmes fan or anything, but it would have to be one of the best shows i've seen in a while. there was much singing and dancing to be had, and though i'm sure i was probably one of the youngest people there , it didnt matter at all. i was having such a good time i didnt even mind when the stupid guy standing next to me elbowed me in the head.
Victor of the Violent Femmes may be one of the coolest drummers ever. he was a total nutter, and his impromtu version of 'My Funny Valentine' (accompanied by drums only) was simply brilliant.
if you get a chance to see these guys , don't pass it up.
new coiffure

today i got my hair cut for the first time in about 6 months or so. about bloody time too, it was quite a mess.
so now, its a bit shorter, a lot tidyier and dyed in a groovey violet - aubergine kinda colour.
i'm pretty happy with it for saying i'd never been to that salon before and i just walked in and got an appointment straight away. excellente.
shout outs to the boys kenneth and ben from tinyman - thanks for the guestbook comments, love your work. (the pumpkin is a good colour) noone's described my page as 'spartan' before, but i'm taking it as a compliment, i like my white space!

so i did a spot of cd shopping today
picked up a new copy of Pavement - Slanted + Enchanted , since mine is so scratched it wouldnt even play anymore .. dont quite know how it got that way , but anyway .. also picked up Death in Vegas - The Contino Sessions (for $8 - score!), and The Cooper Temple Clause - See This Through and Leave.
These guys are dead cool and they can mash tambourines like nobody's business. Rockin. Check em out y'all.
