do YOU party?
// 11.06.03
first things first - i am exhausted, but happy. the big move this weekend went spectacularly well and wasn't anywheer near as much trouble as i had thought it might be, thanks to my lovely dad and flatmates.
as you may have guessed, i have no internet at my new place yet, so i'm here at work covertly doing this entry (tsk tsk)
but otherwise, my new pad is tres fabulous - and i have a room with a view - luverly.
uni is also finished for me as of yesterday - so it's a nice long 6 weeks off - woo, i do believe it is party with a vengeance time... so many good gigs coming up its hard to choose which to go to, but i'm definatley heading out to Death in Vegas, and possibly Goldfrapp - on the same weekend ... oooh i'm going to be plenty wasted.. hehe... also i'm looking forward to Interpol playing in august - if you havent heard these guys, check em out - kinda like a cross between Joy Division and Radiohead - gorgeous atmospheric guitar stuff. mmm mmm.
in other news, i did a small spot of CD shopping over the weekend - and the winners are : The Soft Pink Truth - Do You Party?
funky electro stuff that my flatmates have deemed 'gay party music', which apparently is a good thing, because they were boogeying on down ... and with a song called 'Big Booty Bitches' you can't go wrong. ace.
Wagon Christ - Musipal
great leftfield groovey electronica with lots of samples. nice to dance to while drunk on too much white wine. hehe.
Hot Hot Heat - Make Up the Breakdown
canadian punk proves its more than the shiteness of a certain Avril Lavigne. these boys have a rather 80's sound and they know how to have fun. yay.
and in other news... the housewarming will probably be on the 5th july - so keep it free y'all!

whilst walking along the train platform this morning, i found myself being followed by some random guy. oh dear, here we go again, i thought to myself, as he said 'may i?' indicating the part of the bench next to where i was sitting. now, i'm not one to prevent people from using seats, so i said 'sure, i dont mind' all the while hoping someone would call me at that very moment so he didnt have a chance to speak to me.
no such luck. 'not at school anymore?' he asked. 'no, uni' i said, reluctantly. 'oh right - what are you studying?' came the standard reply. 'graphic design'. and then he said something that struck me as rather odd...
'oh yeah, graphic design ... thats polygons and stuff, right?'
when i replied 'well.. not exactly' he seemed to lose interest and hopped on the next train that came by.
bizzare.
obviously, if it wasn't polygons it wasn't good enough.

zzzzzzZZZzzz.. oh hello.. looks like i fell asleep at my keyboard... again
rather a lot has been happening of late. just as my uni work is snowballing at an alarming rate as i count down the sleeps till my six weeks of holidays (thankyou god!), i decide now might be a good time to be moving house... hehe .. well i've never been one to do things the easy way, and what the hell, i need a bit of excitement and a hard day's labour. crows nest here i come.
in response to the lovely lads over at tinyman (why is it called tinyman, by the way - did i miss something?)it is quite possible that i shall be joining you for Death in Vegas on the 19th day of the month that is July. not sure yet about b(if)tek though, have to see how my cash lines go with all this moving n stuff..
and Ben - in regards to the constant linking.. of course i appreciate it, but i have a permanent link to your site.. yes ,look down to your right there.. so i think i gotcha on that one ;)
but i must say i was rather impressed i made it into the 'coming soon' box. woohoo.
also a cheerio to Gaz who has made me incredibly jealous with his entry in my guestbook. keep rockin, even if england sucks.

shite-est day of the year nominee #1
// 13.05.03
yes, today is in the running for the shite-est day of the year so far . and that's saying something.
after all that had gone on during the day
(quick summary - got to work at 7am, printer broke down so i sat around and answered phones for 3 hours; then made the trip to uni for one boring and quite possibly pointless hour of tutorial classes)
i was quite ready to go home and sleep for a week.
so i stuck on my headphones, hopped on the train, and tuned out for half an hour or so. but when i got to my station i realised that i'd left some important things at uni, so i had to go back.
it took an hour.
in the cold, wet sydney evening.
fun fun.
and on top of this, two random drunk old men decide to tell me i'm a 'spunk' and make comments about my behind on the (second) train trip home. charming.
by the time i got home i was damp, disgusted and dead. time for bed.
end rant here.
