well , things have been pretty hectic for me lately. (no, i'm not still recovering from the party, though it did take about a week... hehe)
work has been pretty crazy, and long days make me a rather tired and irritable little person sometimes, so its best i just go to bed without posting diary entries about how crap work is, because i really do enjoy what i do.
speaking of the housewarming party - i got my photos back yesterday and had quite a good giggle. i don't remember half of them even being taken, but i certainly look like i'm having a good time... i'll have to get them scanned and perhaps post some up here so you can all see how incredibly wasted i was..
but it was such a good night. i was bouncing off the walls (on what, i'll never tell) but i still managed to keep things together enough to catch up with a few people i hadn't seen in a while (and kiss a certain guy i'd never even met before, but .. uh .. its my party and i'll snog who i want to?!?).. moving on .. i had a great time and i think (i hope!) everyone else did too. and the evening was relatively disaster free - noone was sick, noone passed out .. nothing was spilt on the carpet .. and only 3 glasses broken.. (for saying there was about 30 people there at any given time, that's pretty good i think!)
and we still have a tonne of booze left over. a 'finishing off the booze' party is definately in the pipeline.
on a different note - death in vegas this saturday ! woo!

i would like to thank the lovely people at Rage for providing what was possibly one of the best reasons to stay in on saturday night (apart from the fact i'm a bit broke and friday night was rather a big'un)...
for those non-aussie readers, Rage is a music video program, and on saturday night it was the 'Novelty, Weirdo and Oddball Songs' special - check out the Playlist. pure gold. all class.
and finally i find out what that song is on the 'tongue ad' as i like to call it (you know, that beer ad where the guys tongue pops out of his mouth, goes across the street to a party, steals a beer and goes back home? GOLD i say)... anyway, the song is 'Satisfaction' by Benny Bennassi, and the video was pretty damn cool.

builders suck

so we have these builders in at our apartment doing a few 'minor repairs', which were meant to be finished before we even moved in. that was over a month ago and theyre still here. they've told us 3 times now 'Oh, we'll be finished today for sure!', and yet they do one job and create three more - very frustrating. also, they managed to break my desk and put concrete dust all over the place on monday. fun fun fun.

Censorship Sucks
this makes me really mad - i was quite looking forward to this film, Ken Park - and now i find the Australian censors have banned it. tres irritating, to say the least. and especially banning it from being shown at a film festival that is supposed to broaden the average cinema-goer's take on films. i wish these people would stop being so anally retentive - really, we've seen it all before. Larry Clarke is a good filmmaker, as i'm sure many people will agree. yes, his films are provocative, but that's what makes them interesting.

wow, that last entry was nice and bitchy, wasn't it?
as you can tell, i didnt have the most fun on saturday night. ah well, sunday pretty much made up for it with lunch out, a lazy afternoon and a mid-evening swim and gym session.
i would like to say, having a pool in the building is THE BEST thing ever. and noone else is ever there! what's going on?!
not that i'm complaining, actually i prefer it that i don't have to show my lycra clad bod to the entire building... i don't want to scare anyone...

so, apparently "can you come over and help me deal with this stuff - i could really use company this weekend" really just means "can you come over and go to bed with me".
i should've guessed. boy did i feel like a naive lil so and so. ok, yes - it has happened before, but does that now make it the expected behaviour? i wasn't planning to make a habit of it, certainly.
the worst thing is that he actually had me worried that something was wrong. 10 points to you, mister, it was a great act. i don't usually fall for that emotional stuff, its messy and i don't particularly like dealing with my problems, let alone someone else's - but if someone is going to ask me for help i'm not exactly going to tell them to shove it.
but i just might next time.
